about

Tracks 1 – 12 recorded over three shows at the Chapungu Lodge Thornybush Game Reserve, South Africa, 13 & 14 at The Kingdom Hotel, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and 15 on a boat on the mighty Zambezi River!

These recordings tell the story of our little journey to southern Africa early 2015. There were around a dozen of us travelling with Wally and myself playing some sort of show most nights. The requests came thick and fast and we managed to get through a lot of them - more than once wondering to ourselves why a particular song had dropped off the menu years ago.

And so, a big thanks to Matt Collins from Tourica Tours for having the idea in the first place and then to Ash Cook, Dave Booker, Linda Burnett, Sarah Grant, Mark Hopper, Pete Nicholson, Juliet Payne, Doug and Laura Wansbrough, for coming along for the ride.

Black rhinos, damn zebras and lost wallets aside, it was quite a trip.

Mick Thomas and his bands, notably ‘The Weddos’ or ‘The Roving Commission’ or MT himself are all something to behold
